Our lives are the medium.

The above was overheard in the Brains on Firesphere, by the oft quoted Greg Cordell.
Once you know Greg, you soon learn to follow him around with a pen and pad of paper. And this is a gem that he uttered yesterday in a meeting.
“Our lives are the medium now.”
Think about it. Our daily lives are the new medium that marketers dream of being a part of. We create content for YouTube and upload pictures of our lives on Flickr – and those lives involve brands. We connect with people on MySpace and FaceBook, all the while advertising ourselves. Our lives. We are the brands we love. But we are all our own brand. Make sense?
It’s not TV. Or radio. Or print. It’s lives.
And it’s the new medium.

You see, I was trying to be clever by making “medium” a reference to the size I was in high school as opposed to the very tight-fitting XL I am now… and it didn’t work. Upon further review, I just sounded like a a-hole.
