What is it about that fedora?

July 10th, 2007

Summertime always brings a mix of sequels from Hollywood. Some get my attention and others I could care less about. The other day I was watching another forgettable episode of an entertainment show when I caught a photo from the first day of shooting Indiana Jones 4. The theme song from Raiders instantly popped into my mind. I’ve always been a big Indiana Jones fan, I have the DVD box set and Temple of Doom is a regular in my dvd player. But I haven’t googled Indian Jones 4 once until I saw that photo. And what’s funny is the very same day I caught one of the hosts on Maxim radio commenting on the same exact thing. Harrison Ford may be 64 years old but I’m betting that he will still kick some butt in “4.”

Surfing for news lead me to indianajones.com a nice site but as usual very lacking in a real engaged community. So if I’ve scratched up some hidden need for an Indiana Jones fix. TheRaider.net fills in quite nicely, tons of stories, lots of activities and some pretty cool stuff. Check out the Fan Films Theatre featuring 31 films paying homage to Indiana Jones. Maybe it should be left up to the fan sites, but I just wish that movie studios would put forth a little more effort to have conversations with fans. We do buy tickets and probably more importantly we recommend.

I agree! I wish the studios would give us more. But I’m glad there are some good fan site s out there.
I was very sad to see this John Hughes fan site come to an end…http://www.riverblue.com/hughes/

I rushed home from the airport to try and catch my son’s orchestra perfomance. Almost didn’t make it. What I did hear for the second or third time was the Youth Orchestra performing “Raider’s March” which is the theme music from the movie(s).

Why doesn’t the official site invite youth orchestras (who are probably performing this across the country) to upload their performance of the song and let users vote for the best performances across categories: most true, most innovative, most exciting, etc…?

    How come, how come?

John your idea is very cool. I would have to rank Raiders March as my favorite theme music.
