The vissual usability of the device (not necessarily the features per se) is making my my land line wall phone look like what the Altair (old monitorless computer Microsoft originally wrote for - see Pirates of Silicon Valley for example) is to a GUI based computer. I can already tell you very quickly my cell number, so easy to forward my number, combine calls. I'm glad we bought it early as we did. I sent it with my wife on a "field test" to a local business networking meeting. they thought they were going to have free wi-fi but it was done and she was able to log in on the cell network and get the information they needed for the meeting. I've been asked to give a "week's experience" review at the local Mac User's Group this coming Monday. I do however plan on evaluating the sites I currently work on to see if they could be more usuable on the iPhone but that changes could apply to 30 inch cinema display as well. I didn't wait in line but did go to the at&t store at Cherrydale around 7pm and was in and out in no time. Normally I wouldn't have rushed to be there on the first day but my old phone was about to break, my contract had just expired and I had been looking for a device that had all of the features the iPhone is offering in the user friendly manner. As "techy" as I am I have never really attempted to do texting on my old phone. I also see the purchase of the phone as an investment in the mindset of my companies future. I've never gone out of my way to develop web and portable media of other cell phones but this is different and the competition will follow the best they can. In the past I waited too long to aquire and learn new technologies. I'm still waiting for my activation message but I know it will be worth it.
