LA to CHA!
February 1st, 2007
I always have a blast visting LA. And this last trip was no different. Virginia blogged earlier about our trip west to meet the international marketing folks for Fiskars Brands, what an interesting and educational experience to talk marketing with these guys. After these marketing meetings I got to spend some time on the floor at CHA 2007. CHA stands for the Crafting and Hobby Association. An army of 23,000 crafters flocked to Anaheim. I was overwhelmed booth after booth of cool stuff and not so cool stuff. But energy and hugs were everywhere. As I took off on my journey of the CHA floor it took me over an hour to find the Fiskars booth. It did my heart good to see two of the Fiskateers talking it up in the Fiskars booth. Cheryl, Holly May and Stephanie were there, talking to attendees about Fiskars products and sharing the Fiskars love.On my journey on the CHA floor, I stumbled upon an oasis of inspiration. Elise Flannigan’s Kitchen. Elise is in my opinion a breath of fresh air in the scrapbooking world. Her designs are fresh, organic, funky, retro, I could go on and on. Elise carried her retro ‘Happy Days’ theme from the enviroment to her wardrobe and even her hairstyle. The booth was so crowded I couldn’t get a foot in the kitchen.
Some touchpoint kudos. The Avalon Bevery Hills is an impressive boutique hotel. But the customer care takes it to another level. Trevor and Matt with guest services gave us directions, made our dinner reservations and even gave us calls to check up on our day and if their recommendations were satisfactory. I don’t mean to speak for Spike here but two thumbs up for The Lobster in Santa Monica, great view, great food.
