Sharing
December 11th, 2006
I realize it’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to share some of the results of the Curiosity Team’s assignments… so I figured now was as good a time as any. Here are the responses that came back from the word BOLD:
- I’m going to state the obvious and go with bold type
- The opening credits of ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ with that God awful song in all its synthesized glory
- Crayola markers in BOLD. This deep magenta color and deep teal were my favorite of the BOLD Crayola line.
- I associate it with the word Brave. Bold. Brave. Bold.
- Red peppers to me are bold. The color of a perfectly ripened Red Bell Pepper can’t be beat. And the flavor is bolde.
- Sean Connery’s accent to me is bold.
- Garlic. Everything garlic. Smell, taste is so bold.
- Imagery of a fireman walking out of a smoky building, covered in soot, carrying a child in his arms.
- The sound of a train in the dead of night.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
- A full moon
- A first kiss
- The flavor of feta cheese
- Tequila shots
- Coffee, maverick, adventure, risk-taking, stepping off a cliff
- Big & Brash, Bold Detergent, bold typeface, daring, May I be so bold as to…, The Bold and the Beautiful, a hero (or swashbuckler) is bold
- Bold=red, BBQ sauce, strong man with 5 o’ clock chadow, asking for your soon-to-be-girlfriend’s phone number from her ex-boyfriend, smell… strong, with a little bit of spice and pepper smell
- BBQ, Purple, Statement
- Cougar, gruff, authoritative, metal shirt, Arnold Schwarteneggar, words like ‘gyarrr‘ and ‘rrrarrrrg.’ Flags, Americans, Dragon slayers. Bacon. Old stories of Vikings, Stories about explorers like Frances Drake. Stories about seafaring men in general.
- A Brazilian driver!
- Doing The Vagina Monologues at my age!! If my dream comes true, throwing everything to the winds for a month (or more) in Paris with a person not to be identified (at my age???)
- Bright yellow, duct tape prom dresses. paisley. superman. Fight Club. Tim Burton. talking back. Mexican food, Indian food. lions. large typeface. changing religion. smiling at someone you don’t know.
- The color red… rock and roll… men’s cologne… Basically anything sturdy and masculine in taste. To me, the word has sort of a man’s-man, blue-collar feel to it.
- being up-front, risky, big and bright, confidence; the raw truth; to go or do where no one has gone or done before.
- Bold is thought to be anyone who knowingly plows ahead, bolts forward, etc. But I think bold when someone is fearful but carries on regardless. Fumbling blindly forward WITHOUT confidence or assurances. That’s bold.
- Risk taking, first dates, valient, hip-hop and classic rock with heavy bass or bass guitar, strong smells
- The opposite of timid. Someone who is willing to take the BIG LEAP that’s needed to get very far ahead of where you are. Bold people are courageous people.
- Clear contrast - either through thick fonts, contrasting colors, etc. Something that makes a strong statement either a spice for food, radical idea, strong political or religious convictions.
- First thing I thought of was coffee. PArticularly odd since I don’t drink it. But it might be tied to how often the word ‘bold’ is used to describe coffee.
- (you mean besides the font style?) Unwilling to let others’ perceptions and opinions change one’s attitude and beliefs; also, unafraid to express opinions regardless of audience
See! Is it any wonder I am so excited about these guys and gals?! If you’re interested in joining the team, just drop me an email with your age and zip code at curiosityteam@brainsonfire.com.
