Spark

I am currently sitting in my well-air-conditioned hotel room in stiflingly muggy Miami, where over 750 Account Planners
from at least 11 countries have gathered for the AAAA Account Planning Conference… this year titled “Spark.” So far, it’s been a full, informative, intimidating, interesting, fun, boring, amusing, inspiring and caffeine-driven day. It’s interesting to sit in a room full of account planners. For one thing, as a group, we probably have the least in common with each other of any group of advertising professionals… perhaps of any professionals, period. We didn’t study the same things in school. We don’t have similar skills. We don’t have similar interests. We don’t use the same computer programs. We all came to planning in a different way. I suppose it’s our variety that we have in common. (That, and our enthusiasm for complaining about creatives.) Just today I’ve taken over 25 pages of notes and have heard enough thoughts to keep me blogging for weeks. By Wednesday I’m thinking I may have fodder for the rest of the calendar year.
At any rate, I must dash off to dinner, but stay tuned! I will be sharing a great many items over the next however many posts that truly sparked my intellect!
