Christopher - that's a good point, and certainly a risk in a venture like this. But it seems to me that the aim is to empower that market to be able to experience the Internet and the tools it offers in a more user-friendly, tailored-to-them sort of way. I'm signing up my parents because they would not have been likely to hear about this without a daughter in marketing, not because they can't or wouldn't want to do it themselves. Obviously you can't force people in, but there's a certain power to saying, "You know, those young kids have their internet... this is yours." The Internet is getting harder and harder to avoid, so this is a chance for the 50+ market to find a way in. Plus, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to be 50 someday too. So it's smart to start now so that the community will already be there and strong when the boomers' kids turn around and realize, "Ah, man. I'm 50."

I hate to point out the obvious - but wouldn't the market depend on how many of these 50+ somethings were web savvy? If you are signing up your parents, isn't that a hint that the market is limited b/c they don't want to live their life in virtual networks? I imagine they are fully connected in their current ones.

Never let it be said that the fine Ms. Goff can't honor an NDA. I am very impressed by her restraint.

Hey - you're talking about me! 52 and I would say more alive to possibilities and ready to learn than many 25 year olds I meet.

Thanks for the "heads up"!
