Love Monkey back in our lives

April 17th, 2006

Who cares?

Well I can’t help but feel that the television gods smiled on all of us who took time to sign on-line petitions and rattle the blog sabers a little. VH1 claims they brought back Love Monkey because the people asked for it. I hope that’s right and I hope it doesn’t end there. VH1 will air all eight episodes, but no new ones have been ordered.

So, I’m begging, give this show a chance! Tune in Tuesday at 9pm. You might just save a show.

On to another television show that I’ve pimped recently: “The Loop.” Loop seems to be finding a groove and starting to make it’s way into pop culture. The theme song from James Kochalka and The Zambonis “Hockey Monkey” is now being requested and played on Sirius “Alt Nation.” The show is a riot, at times raunchy, but funny as hell. If FOX lets this show bake a bit, look out.

Now that Love Monkey is saved, time to save the West Wing …. your co-worker Billy will thank you.

Thanks, Brian. It really is tragic when a great show goes off the air. West Wing is the best, most well-written show since Northern Exposure. But bringing it back… or even continuing it at this point… would probably water it down to the point of Commander in Chief (which, unfortunately, is a perfect example of where most crappy television shows are headed). But alas, reality (and law) has limited Jeb Bartlett to only two terms in office. It’s time for us to suck it up, take a deep breath and remember fondly the guy who used to be in charge. Bill Clinton - I mean Martin Sheen - is a hard act to follow. I concede to just let it go. Plus, I have asked for the DVDs for my birthday.

Oh, and Love Monkey really is a cool show. Ed is awesome. I just wish Carol Vessey was in this one, too.
