Keep Greenville Weird

April 13th, 2006

It seems that a small group of independent shops are joining forces in Greenville, SC to encourage the public to spend their dollars in Greenville-owned stores and get the local government to recognize the need for growth and support these indy stores.

The concept is based on the “Keep Austin Weird” movement started a while back that is a grassroots idea to keep the artistic city close to its’ roots.

The fight against the big corps began long before this. But it is gaining momentum everyday. The best part of it is that it started with the citizen marketers and it’s run by the citizen marketers.

There is no greater passion than that of real people. It’s contagious. And it works.
