I did it.
March 17th, 2006
Okay… let me preface this with the fact that I am about to be doing a LOT of traveling for Brains on Fire’s clients. I mean, we’re talking I’m going to be living out a suitcase in different cities and hotel rooms for two weeks straight. My cat may never speak to me again. And though Geno and Spike will be with me on pieces of the trip, there is still a lot of alone time in my future.
So I bought an iPod.
Now, I did this because I felt like I could justify it for reasons of utility and sanity. I’m not a great flyer (and I’ve been watching Lost… which doesn’t exactly help with the paranoia)… and I hate pulling out my computer on the plane, so it’s the best way I can think of to have something to keep me from listening to every little sound the plane may make. It’s a lot more convenient than toting my CDs with me.
I know there are just a few of my coworkers and some of you who read this who would appreciate this knowledge after my initial iPod post.
But don’t get too excited. I’m still not buying an iBook… and I’ll continue to run iTunes on my PC.

I must say, I’m disappointed.
When your iPod battery dies (and you can’t replace it) consider the Creative Zen Micro. You can replace its battery and you don’t need iTunes.
I received one for Christmas, after my RCA Lyra Jukebox was stolen from my vehicle, and I’ve been very impressed.

kudos to Jenn.
And yes Evan, you can now replace iPod batteries. They sell them at CompUSA.
