Word of Mouth goes to college
December 9th, 2005
Our favorite professional intellectual, Dr. Walter Carl, has announced that he will be “teaching a special topics course entitled ‘Word-of-Mouth, Buzz, and Viral Marketing Communication’ at Northeastern University in the Department of Communication Studies, first summer session (May and June 2006).”
This is fantastic.
What better way to kill off the remaining stragglers of strict traditional marketing than by teaching WOM techniques to those open-minded young’ens in their college years.
Dr. Carl has also set up a special blog just for the course, which I know I’ll be eavesdropping on from time-to-time.
Congrats, Professor, for planting the seeds and preaching the good word.

Dude, I am so taking this class. Too bad it is being taught by “Casualty Carl.” Ain’t nuthin’ “casual” about his classes — Carl demands a lot from his students. Better get in on early registration as word is spreading quickly about this class on Word-of-Mouth Marketing. Seriously … I wonder if “Casualty Carl” is going to employ some WOM methods to increase registration. Ya know, I’m sure BzzAgent will gladly do a GoodBzz campaign for it.

Thanks for the mention on your blog! I’d love to include your “Rage Against The Haze” as a case study in my class this summer. I remember hearing the presentation at the first WOMMA conference last year. Maybe we can touch base in Orlando!
